Dear friend and partner,

Last week, I share with you three things we can learn from the ants: (i) accept personal responsibility for your life; (ii) manage your god-given resources  wisely; and (iii) never give up until you  reach your goal.

Today, I want to discuss with you the wisdom of the Conies. Conies are small rabbits that are physically feeble (i.e. they are weak or lack strength). But the Bible says, they are great because they position themselves in the rock. Conies’ life demonstrate how weak and ordinary folks can achieve great and extraordinary feats in life. Do you have great dreams but have been looking at your physical weaknesses as limitations? Conies gave you and I wisdom on how to turn every of our weaknesses into strength.

First, let me remind you that in these last days, the Holy Spirit will be showing believers like you and I  “great” and “mighty” things that are lined up in our future (See: Jeremiah 33:2-3). Unfortunately, the moment the Holy Spirit shows you those great things, there is a war in your mind.  Your mind builds up excuses and reasons why you cannot accomplish what you saw in your spirit. Primarily, the devil reminds you of all the limitations and weaknesses you have in the natural (e.g poor and dysfunctional family background, lack of education, lack of finance, etc) as proof that you can not achieve your dream.

We could see many examples of this in the scripture. You remember the twelve spies that were sent to check the promise land? After seeing the promised land and the great things that are therein, they limited themselves in their mind. They saw themselves “as  grasshoppers” in their own eyes. But, the Bible says, Caleb and Joshua have “a different spirit”. They have what I called the “can do it” spirit (See: Num 13:1-2, 18-20, 27-32; Num 14:21-24).

Also, in Nehemiah 4:2, the enemy attacked and assaulted Nehemiah’s image of himself and his ability to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem by asking: “What are these feeble folks doing”. But Nehemiah was not deterred, he pressed on and rebuild the broken wall of Jerusalem against all odds.

How about Gideon?  In Judges 6:12-16, God saw him as a “mighty man of valour” and asked him to lead the army of Israel, but Gideon looked at his economic and family background and said “Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and am the least in my father’s house.”  Can you see how someone God sees as a mighty man of valour saw himself?

Notice that the goal of the enemy is to make you see  yourself as feeble so that you look little, think little, talk little, act little and eventually achieve little in life. But, I don’t care what image of yourself the devil is presenting to you, I see you carry  greatness within you.
Infact, the good news of the Kingdom for those of us who have no history or any background to boast of in life is that God uses ordinary and weak things in the natural to do extraordinary things so that all the glory and honour may be to Him and not to us (See: 1 Cor 1:26-31). What a joy to know that my success in life will not be a function of my personal competence and strength but on the reality of His might and greatness at work in me. I am so glad that He so chose to show forth His praise and glory on the earth by putting His divine power in an earthen vessel like me (See: 2 Cor 4:6-7). Halleluyah!

Friend, Conies show us that your greatness is not dependent on your physical outlook but on your inner strength. Conies are feeble folks on the outside but they are extremely strong on the inside. They overcome their weaknesses by “making their houses in the rock”. You will continue to live short of your true potential and dream until you are stronger on the inside than you are on the outside. The reason for your inability to live a great life is not because there are so much challenges on the outside but because you have not won the war on your inside i.e you are weak inside as far as your dreams in life are concerned. You need the heart of a “rock” (i.e unbreakable by circumstances, immovable, and steadfast) to achieve your goals in life.

Great people are people who may look like a lamb (i.e weak) on the outside, but they have the heart of a “lion” (i.e. strong, brave, bold, and courageous) on the inside. You will only know their greatness by “what they achieve” and not “how they look”. In Revelation 5:1-12, John told us he saw a book that was closed with no one to open it and he wept. But the elders told him the “Lion of the tribe of Judah” has prevailed to open the book and loose the seal thereof, but when he looked, he saw a “Lamb”that was slained. Similarly, your life is a book already written with seals, you are the only one who can open it up with the help of the Holy Spirit and unveil the seals. But you need to be a “Lion” inside  and have the face of a “Lamb” to open it.

Let me close on this note, when the devil reminds you how small, weak and feeble you are in comparison to the size of your dreams, let him know that you carry the greater one inside (See: 1 John 4:4). Tell the devil: “I may be small and feeble on the outside but I am big and strong on the inside”. Never allow temporary oppositions by people, setbacks and challenges to talk you out of your god-given dreams. Be like the sower that kept on sowing the good seed not minding the soil until he find the right environment to cultivate the seed (See: Mark 4:3-8). You can do ALL things through Christ that strengthens you (Phil 4:13). You are NOT ORDINARY, your STRENGTH comes from God who is the ROCK of ages (See: 1 Sam 2:2; 2 Sam 22:2-3; Psalm 18:2; Psalm 27:5; Psalm 31:3; Psalm 62:7; Psalm 71:3). I, therefore, encourage you to go in this might and live your god-given dream.
