2011 Prophecies: Who is Authorized to Speak?

Saturday, January 8th, 2011

“Howbeit, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (John 16:13).”

“And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand and when ye turn to the left (Isaiah 30:21).”

My dear friend and partner,

At the beginning of every year, many people look forward to what the year holds and what lies ahead in the next 12 months of the calendar year. No sooner than the clock tick past 12midnite and the shout of “Happy New Year” rent the air, comes the various predictions and prophecies on what the year has in store. It is almost becoming appauling that every “Tom, Dick and Harry” come on stage to speak and make predictions on what the year has in store. But, can we really trust every of such predictions? Can anyone just speak and reveal the plan of God for us, our family and nation in the new year? Who has God authorized to speak?

Wisdom of the Ants

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

“The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer (Prov 30:25)”
“Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest (Prov 6:6-8)”

Dear friend and partner,

In our last discussion, we introduced the little four that becomes great because they exceeded others in wisdom. We then emphasize the importance of godly wisdom  to achieving greatness in life.

Today, I will be focusing on the first of the little four – the ants. I believe there are three vital lessons that  we learn about life from the ants: one, you must accept personal responsibility for your life; two, manage your god-given resources wisely; and three, no matter what comes your way, never give up! Let’s discuss these three points further.

The Wisdom of the Little Four (Part 1)

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

“There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise: The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer; The conies are but a feeble folk, yet they make their houses in the rock; The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands; The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces (Prov 30:24-28)”

My dear friend and partner,

One distinguishing mark of a child of God is the ability to recognize and hear God’s voice. In John chapter 10, Jesus, repeatedly, says that he knows his sheep and they hear and obey his voice (See: John 10:3-5,27). You should, however, know that not only can we hear God’s voice through the pages of the Bible, God speaks through  nature and everything he made in creation. Psalms 19:1-3 says: “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.” That means, God communicates His wisdom through everything around us – the flowers, the birds, the firmament and every other things in creation.

Who is worthy to Open the Book and Loose the Seals?

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

“Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart (Psa 40:7-8)”

My dear friend and partner,

I want to continue this week our discussion on HOW TO UNLOCK YOUR PERSONAL GREATNESS. We established last week that God is concerned about how the journey of your life ends than how it begins. His expectation is that although you begin small, you should end it in greatness (Job 8:7; Ecc 7:8). We also found out that God’s process for releasing greatness in all His creation is to leverage the power of the seed. You carry the seed of greatness in your born-again spirit and you can be everything God has revealed in your spirit.

Discovering the Path to the Good Life!

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

“For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. (Ephesians 2:10, AMP)”

My treasured friend and partner,

Thank you for joining me again this week in our series on ENJOYING THE TREASURES OF DARKNESS. We established last week that God has given us the entire earth and the fulness thereof (including treasures, wealth and riches) as part of our inheritance in Christ (Psalms 8:4-6; Psalms 115:16; Rom 8:16-17). Infact, Romans 4:13 says God has given the entire “world” to Abraham as an inheritance. Can you imagine that? Now you can understand why Genesis 13:2 says “And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold”. And, according to Galatians 3:9, “they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham”. So, riches and wealth in this world are part of your family heritage in Christ Jesus.

Today, I want to show you that there is a “good life”  that God has prepared ahead for you to live and if you are in Christ, he will begin to show you the path that lead you there in the natural life.

Rejoice, God is in You!

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

Today’s verse:

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth (John 1:14)

Word for Today:

All through history, God has manifested himself to man in three phases: (i) by divine visitation (ii) by dwelling among us (iii) by dwelling in us.

Appropriating the Grace of God!

Friday, November 27th, 2009

“For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me (1 Cor 15:9-10).”

“Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily (1 Col 1:29)”

My dear friend and partner,

As we enter the Christmas season, we have been examining a new theme, “JESUS CHRIST: THE REASON FOR THE SEASON” using the popular Bible story of the “Good Samaritan” as told by Jesus himself in Luke 10:25-37. Last week, our emphasis was on how grace was able to help humanity where the law failed.

Now let’s see the work of God’s grace us. Luke 10:34 says: “And [the good samaritan] went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.” Notice three symbolic elements that were applied by the “Good Samaritan” on the wounded and robbed man here. These three are symbols of the Holy Spirit and what the grace of God has accomplished on our lives:

Keep your Dreams and Visions alive!

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I shall pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions (Joel 2:28)”

I want to conclude the series on “The Value of His Presence” today, but let me show you one more role of the Holy Spirit in our lives – He gives us dreams and visions. I would be dealing with the subject of your God-given dreams and visions subsequently.

In our text today, Joel prophesied about the outpouring of God’s Spirit on all flesh and how the Holy Spirit will inspire us to have dreams and visions. Dr Myles Munroe defines vision as “a conception that is inspired by God in the heart of a human”. Without visions, there is nothing to live for and possess in the future. However, God-inspired visions and dreams are usually beyond our personal ability to accomplish. He always inspires us to reach-out for something that is well beyond us so that he may demonstrate his greatness and supernatural power through us.

Who is Authorized to Speak?

Monday, March 16th, 2009

“Howbeit, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (John 16:13).”

The current global economic meltdown has generated quite a lot of debates and opinions in the media on how people should live and what they should do to survive. Governments  and various institutions have set up support programs that could help people cope. Yet one thing seems clear: no one knows exactly what works and what would not work. Many of the experts advice are based on stale ideas and obsolete solutions. The situation people face are so fragile and dynamic than to recommend a “one-size-fit-all” solution.

Demonstrate Confidence in What You Have!

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me (Heb 13:5-6)”

Last week, we mentioned three things you already have as a believer – God’s word, the name of Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. We said those are ALL you need for a total life of success and victory. You must be satisfied with such things as you have so that you would not covet what you do not have that you think you need.

However, I have discovered that the real challenge for many Christians is not being contended with what they have, rather, it is demonstrating confidence in what they have when confronted with challenges of life. But you wonder, what is the difference? Contentment with what you have will eradicate covetousness, but it is your confidence in what you have that eliminates fear of defeat or failure. This is what the second part of the main text is about and is my interest for our discussion today.
